LEGENDARY CHAPMAN’S PEAK RE-OPENS

Cape Town’s legendary Chapman’s Peak Drive has been reopened. The road was closed in June 2008 much to the chagrin of locals and tourists alike, as a result of risk areas identified on the mountain above the road. Situated on the Atlantic Coast, the road winds its way between Noordhoek and Hout Bay, offering spectacular and some would even say, unrivalled marine vistas.

The 9km route, with its 114 curves, skirts the rocky coastline of Chapman’s Peak, the 593m high southerly extension of Constantia Berg. The drive offers stunning 180° views with many areas along the route.
To see why Karoo Biking enjoys the route so much, visitor book one of our tours and we’ll show you in person.
