CAPE TOWN’S 2010 FOOTBALL STADIUM SHINES

Green Point, an upmarket Captonian suburb that hugs the V&A; Waterfront, was a beacon of light and hope on the evening of the 20th October 2009. The reason? The lights of the all new stadium were turned on for the first time. The images highlight the stadium’s design as an architectural gem. Although it sits in the shadow the infamous Table Mountain, Green Point Stadium promises to be catapulted to iconic status as another landmark for the Mother City, albeit made by human hand. Building and development here in Cape Town is reaching fever pitch as we start to put finishing touches to the city in anticipation to the eight 2010 FIFA Football World Cup games as well as the exciting semi final.
